Dina Manzo Reveals the Last Time She Spoke to Her Estranged Sister Caroline

26 Aug

Sometimes time heals wounds, but when it comes to the fractured relationship between Caroline Manzo and Dina Manzo, that doesn’t seem to be the case. When Dina appeared on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live, she not only confirmed her engagement to David Cantin, but also offered an update on where things stand with her sister and fellow The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum.

“Caroline does not speak to me at all … we haven’t spoken in two years,” Dina said about the Manzo’d with Children matriarch, via PEOPLE. She noted that fame may have contributed to their rift: “People become [caricatures] of themselves. A little part of what people say that they liked, they tend to put it on.”

While she noted about the crew in her chat with the Flipping Out designer that “I think we all changed” once the show premiered, she adds she saw a bigger transformation in her sister: “It was when I didn’t recognize who she was any more that I said, ‘I’m out.’”

She continued, “And then the television thing [factored in] after I watched Season 1. I was saying very nice things about them and watching back, they weren’t doing the same for me. So I was like, ‘What the f—?’ Is there envy going on here? They don’t want me to look good?’ I don’t know, but it freaked me out.”

In the midst of their rift, life has not only changed for Dina who has found love again, but also for Caroline who became a grandma last year. Dina added, “Maybe becoming a grandmother has brought her back down to earth.”

While Caroline and Dina don’t speak, Dina did note that she is close to her other siblings. “That’s what people don’t realize. I get infuriated when people say, ‘You don’t speak to your family.’ I have 10 siblings,” she said. “[My brother] Chris [Laurita], I saw him not too long ago, when we lived in Malibu and he came out and we had a nice dinner. We don’t see each other often because we’re on different coasts. But we’re definitely fine. And Jacqueline as well. If they called me tomorrow and they needed me, I’ll be there. They’re great.”

Source Says Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita Will NOT Be Returning To “Real Hosuewives of New Jersey”

21 Mar

Danielle Staub, who returned to RHONJ last season as a friend for the first time since her season 2 departure in 2010, will be back, but her role is up in the air, according to the source.

While no new full-time Housewives have been hired yet, “they’re rolling in a bunch of different people and trying to figure it out as they go,” a source explains.

As previously reported, sources exclusively told Us Weekly in January that producers were considering approaching former housewives Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita about returning to the series. Us can now confirm that they will not be returning this season.

When asked in January if she would rejoin the hit franchise, Caroline told Us it would “be a major, major decision.” (She left RHONJ after five seasons in 2013 and went on to star on Manzo’d With Children with her family for three seasons.)

“It’s not something that I would embrace wholeheartedly and say, ‘Let’s do this!’ It’s something that I would consider very, very heavily and for a long time,” she explained. “On my end it would have to be a very well thought out decision because it has so many layers to it at this point in my life. So many layers to it. I had so much fun doing Manzo’d. It was just an awesome awesome opportunity.”

Danielle Staub Would Love for Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita to Return to ‘RHONJ’

11 Feb

If Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita decide to return to The Real Housewives of New Jersey, one unlikley person will be on board: Danielle Staub. The Bravo star, who appeared in seasons 1 and 2 before rejoining last year, revealed that she’s heard rumors they may come back.

“I would love it because Teresa [Giudice] and I have each other’s back. They did to me what they did to her so …,” she told Us Weekly exclusively at the New York premiere of First We Take Brooklyn on Wednesday, February 7.

Giudice and Staub didn’t get along in the first two seasons – Giudice infamously flipped a table toward Staub in the first season – but have since put their differences behind them. “I knew we would [become friends]. I just think it was the universe calling,” she told Us. “I just think I had to wait and she had to wait and time had to go by. Things needed happened and those things happened and time went by and here we are.”

Last month, Manzo, 56, opened up about the speculation. “It’s not a no and it’s certainly not a yes. It’s a who knows,” she told Us at the time. Manzo left the show after five seasons in 2013 and went on to star in her own spinoff for three seasons. Laurita also left the show after five seasons, came back full-time in season 7, then exited again.

Since they’ve been gone, Staub has just become closer to Giudice, telling Us they speak every day.

Teresa Giudice Has Harsh Words About Caroline Manzo and Jacqueline Laurita Possibly Rejoining RHONJ

28 Jan

As is tradition, once a Real Housewives show wraps up its reunion, all eyes turn to the season ahead. For The Real Housewives of New Jersey season nine, that could mean an infusion of new (or familiar) faces. Siggy Flicker already announced her exit, claiming she got a bad edit, and rumors are already swirling that the Garden State series could be bringing back original cast members Caroline Manzon and Jacqueline Laurita to shake things up.

“Maybe if they both come back it’s because they need the money,” Teresa Giudice told E! News. “But, I mean, whatever, bring it on. I could give two s—ts if they come back. Do I want to reconcile being friends with them again? No. They’re both evil people and I really don’t want anything to do with evil people. I don’t, but if I have to give them a piece of my mind I will.”

Teresa cited Caroline cozying up with her own family as a plot just for the show because she’s a “money hungry bitch.”

As for Siggy, who said, “After much reflection and Bravo’s support, I have decided that this will be my last season on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. I am grateful to the network for allowing me to be part of this successful franchise and wish only the best for Teresa, Melissa, Dolores, Danielle and Margaret. At this time, I want to focus on my beautiful family, my growing business and some exciting new projects,” Teresa said she’s not shocked that Siggy quit the show.

“It’s not for everyone. You’ve got to have thick skin in this business,” Teresa said.

Caroline Manzo Opens Up About Recent Weight Struggles

18 Sep

Caroline Manzo is getting real about her struggles with trying to live a healthier life. The Manzo’d with Children mama opened up about her ups and downs in a candid post on Instagram.

“What you put in your body counts. Exactly One year ago today I was down 30+ pounds by exercising and eating healthy foods that were compatible to my body make up. That meant no pork, no beef, no sugar, no dairy, no bread or rice. It sounds awful but I never felt better or had more energy,” she shared. “Fast forward to January where I unceremoniously fell off the wagon, and just like that the pounds are back. Well, here we go again. I refuse to let poor eating habits take my energy and confidence away. Back on the wagon we go, three pounds down. Wish me luck.”

Caroline took fans inside her journey to getting healthier in 2016, noting that following a health scare and a foot injury, it was time to put herself first.

“I have to lose the weight that I put on because I’m only 5’1″ and I was 154 pounds. That’s 40 pounds overweight. That, number one, because it affects everything, your blood pressure, your sugar, things like that. I just felt awful. I just felt terrible,” she told The Daily Dish last year. “So now that I’m back on my feet, I have to lose the weight that I gained.”

Caroline Manzo Announces End of ‘Manzo’d with Children’

29 Jul

Caroline Manzo is saying goodbye to reality television.

Just days after she welcomed her first grandchild — granddaughter Marchesa Anna Scalia — into the world on Feb. 24, the new grandmother is closing her chapter of starring in her own reality TV show.

On Tuesday, the Manzo’d with Children star revealed in a sweet Instagram post featuring her newborn granddaughter that the series — which documents her life with her husband (Albert) and three children (sons Albie and Christopher, and daughter Lauren) — has ended with its third and final season.

“After three Seasons of Manzo’d we out – Markie drops – we are forever grateful to our viewers, we love you all! #threefingersup #manzod #manzodwithmorechildren,” she captioned the photo.

Since announcing the bittersweet news to fans, the Real Housewives of New Jersey alum admitted that she was “completely blown away” by the outpour of support.

“I’ve been reading all your comments regarding the end of Manzo’d With Children and I have to say that I’m completely blown away by your reaction. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” she shared in an Instagram post Wednesday of the cast and crew.

Jacqueline Laurita Says Her and Dina Manzo Are Good

15 Oct

It’s been a few weeks since Caroline Manzo broke the news that her on and off-again relationship with her sister Dina Manzo is, in fact, off again, but for Jacqueline Laurita, things are still good with her sister-in-law.

“[Dina] and I made up two years ago,” Jacqueline told The Daily Dish. “She came over for Thanksgiving, I saw her that Christmas, and I saw her at Lauren [Manzo Scalia]’s wedding.”

Since Dina moved to Los Angeles, the Jersey Housewife admits the two don’t see each other any more but manage to still keep in touch. “She sent me some stuff that I put on Instagram for her, and I sent her stuff that she put on Instagram for me. I would say it’s peaceful between us, but we haven’t seen her.”

The last time Caroline and Dina were feuding, Jacqueline was also involved in the drama. While appearing on Watch What Happens Live in 2014, Caroline revealed that Dina didn’t want Jacqueline in her life and gave her sister and Chris Laurita an ultimatum.

“I want you to understand the gravity of that,” Caroline told host Andy Cohen. “This is a man that has a son that has special needs, and you’re saying for him to leave his wife in order for you to have a relationship with him.”

Caroline has yet to reveal the reason behind her current feud with sister Dina, but it’s safe to say the issue this time is not Jacqueline.

Sisters Caroline and Dina Manzo Aren’t Speaking Again

17 Sep

It looks like there’s still tension between the Manzo sisters. After Caroline Manzo shared with The Daily Dish that she and her sister Dina Manzo “don’t have a relationship anymore,” the Manzo’d with Children matriarch reiterated during Sunday night’s Watch What Happens Live that their relationship is “over.” “What are you gonna do? You can’t get blood out of a rock,” she told Andy Cohen after he asked how things were between the siblings today (clip above).

Caroline later said during the WWHL After Show that the last time she and Dina had reconciled, they had been on good terms for about 10 months, but added that they’d “never had words” during that time (clip below).

This all started after the WWHL host mentioned that Dina had sent some love to Caroline’s fellow guest Siggy Flicker via Twitter writing, “.@siggyflicker gives great advice! You go girl” during the episode. Caroline’s comments on WWHL, however, inspired Dina to send some not-so-positive tweets her sister’s way following the episode. “I’m sick w the flu for 7 days & not in the mood for this sh**,” Dina tweeted, which seemed to be in response to Caroline’s comments. “I said one day I will snap and I might be about to.”

Dina went on to imply that Caroline is the one responsible for putting a strain on their relationship. “I was told NEVER to reach out/speak to her or her family again,” she tweeted. “Disinvited to holidays? But I’m the rock she’s trying to get blood out of?”

The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum then said that there was “no reason” for Caroline to bring up this topic publicly. “I was asked that same question on my press tour for my skincare & protected ‘family’ by saying all is good,” she said.

Dina said her tweet to Siggy was only meant as a compliment for “giving great relationship advice” to The Real Housewives of New York City cast on WWHL. “Andy or a caller would have asked the question anyway” about Dina and Caroline’s relationship status, according to Dina.

Ultimately, Dina said that she believes this drama is hurting their family. “I’ve kept my mouth shut for yrs to protect my parents & husband at the time,” she tweeted. “I’m done. My parents can’t be hurt anymore than they are now.”

Caroline has not yet publicly addressed Dina’s comments, but she did respond to RHONJ alum Danielle Staub‘s tweet in which she wrote, “Why the double standard @carolinemanzo you didn’t allow anyone to be friends with me but now?” after Caroline mentioned her on WWHL. But Caroline doesn’t really seem to have a beef with her former castmate. “Because Danielle Staub, thanks for watching, No.1, and No.2, you and I did not have any kind of relationship, so I don’t want to be around the people that are around you, so maybe it’s my end,” she said.

Caroline Manzo’s Daughter Lauren Is Pregnant

16 Sep

The Real Housewives of New Jersey family continues to expand.

Shortly after welcoming Jacqueline Laurita‘s daughter Ashlee Holmesbaby into the world, we learn that the new mom’s cousin Lauren Manzo is pregnant! Caroline Manzo‘s daughter and hubby Vito Scalia are expecting their first child together, according to People, who first reported the story.

“We are so excited to be expecting our first child, due in early 2017. What a crazy year it has been for us. Life is full of wonderful surprises!,” the couple said in a joint statement to the mag. “We had been trying to get pregnant for a while, and as soon as we stopped placing so much pressure on ourselves, it actually happened.”

Lauren hinted at possible fertility struggles in the trailer for the new season of the family’s spinoff show Manzo’d With Children. “I get nervous that we haven’t gotten pregnant yet,” she tells Vito.

Rumors that Manzo got pregnant back in April began to surface, but her brother Chris didn’t know of any bun in the oven at the time. I know Lauren is superstitious. So if there is something, if there was any kind of news, it hasn’t been broken to me yet,” Chris told The Daily Dish

“That’s usually the next step after marriage, but there hasn’t been anything that they’re at least telling me. I know that my sister is extremely superstitious, so if there’s any kind of superstition of when you can tell someone or anything like that, maybe it’s in that phase right now,” he added. “I know that as long as I’ve been alive Lauren’s wanted to be a young mother. So, that’s in the back of everyone’s mind as well.”
