Does Bethenny Frankel have something to hide? RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that The Real Housewives of New York City star has asked a federal judge to keep secret a collection of e-mails filed as evidence in the lawsuit against her liquor brand — because they would reveal her confidential public relations strategy.
An Illinois woman is suing the former Real Housewives of New York City star, claiming Frankel’s Skinnygirl Margarita was not all-natural as advertised, because it allegedly contained food preservatives.
The class action lawsuit suffered a major setback when a federal judge ruled last month that there was no way to determine who bought the products and how much they paid for the liquor, but the plaintiffs recently filed new documents — which included the e-mails Frankel wants the court to seal from public view — to convince the judge to change his mind.
“A small collection of email communications and documents attached to those emails” are “confidential business strategy communications” that include “discussions of public relations strategy with Bethenny Frankel, draft public relations statements, and discussions of possible alternative product formulations and ingredients,” Frankel’s new court filing, obtained by Radar, says.
Frankel also wants the judge to seal the transcript of a deposition she gave in a related case, the filing says.
The judge has not ruled on Frankel’s request.
Who knew that a little lunch could cause so much chaos?
After Porsha Williams slammed Cynthia Bailey on Twitter for claiming she slept with a married man “for cars and bags,” the 46-year-old model took to her Bravo blog to call out the recurring Housewife for her excessive tardiness.
“I feel an ongoing issue in this group of ladies is the blatant disrespect for people’s time,” Bailey wrote on November 26. “It is just rude and inappropriate.”
Williams arrived an hour late to their lunch meeting on last week’s episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta, which led Baily to immediately demand an apology. But the NFL ex-wife, 33, wasn’t willing to give one.
“It also says a lot about a person to have no regard for another person’s time (no call or text) and feel no need to apologize. I find this behavior extremely irritating and actually offensive,” Bailey huffed on her blog.
The Bailey Agency CEO said she wished she had kept her cool— and had walked out the door 45 minutes earlier.
“My mistake was not leaving after the customary 15 minute grace period,” she wrote.
Williams originally scheduled the lunch to hash out their differences, but now the former friends are in an even worse spot.
It took no hesitation for Andy Cohen to name his most difficult interview subjects.
“That Teresa and Joe [Giudice] interview was no piece of cake,” said the Watch What Happens Live host when the question was put before him during a fan Q&A at the Gilt City Miami launch party at Villa Azur for the just-published The Andy Cohen Diaries, now at the top of Apple’s top paid iBook list.
“They’re not the most reflective people I’ve met,” he said. “I’m not throwing shade, but they’re not reflective and introspective.”
In spite of the couple’s status as interview subjects, when it comes to Teresa’s possible return to Real Housewives of New Jersey after she serves out her 15-month jail sentence, Cohen enthusiastically stated, “I hope so!”
Elsewhere in the realm of Housewives, specifically how the Real Housewives of New York cast is handling the return to the show of the controversial Bethenny Frankel – who feuded on-air with Jill Zarin and LuAnn de Lesseps – Cohen said, “I think that they think it’s good for the show, and they all have their own opinions about her personally, so we’ll see how they play out on the show.
“They’ve expressed to me their excitement, nerves I think they would be expressing to each other.”
Asked about any Housewife lobbying to get Zarin back on the show, Cohen said, “Yes! There is!”
But wait, there’s more. Insofar as which celebrity he’d love to see on the show, he said, “Beyoncé! She’d be great.” And, should there ever be an all-star Housewives cast, he’d like to see “Nene [Leakes], Teresa [Giudice], [Lisa] Vanderpump, Bethenny [Frankel], Adriana [de Moura] and [Vicki] Gunvalson.”
Phaedra Parks is focusing on being a single mom to her two sons now that Apollo Nida has started his eight-year prison sentence . But RadarOnline.com has learned she still has time for drama! The Real Housewives of Atlanta star slammed fellow housewife Cynthia Bailey in a bitter new Bravo blog, and Radar has all the details.
“While our show is about a group of women who socialize together, socializing does not equate to true friendship,” Parks, 43, began in the post. “True friends delight in the building up of one another rather than bashing each other.”
But after calling out Porsha Williams’ “sweetness,” NeNe Leakes’ “support and advice,” and Kandi Burruss’ “steadfast friendship,” she turned her sights on Bailey, 46.
“I have always thought of Cynthia as a nice person, but her behavior last night was unbecoming,” she wrote.
As Radar reported, on Sunday’s episode, Bailey slammed Williams for allegedly sleeping with “old married men,” a charge Williams finds amusing, according to insiders.
“Porsha was late and I understand Cynthia’s frustration,” Parks wrote. “However, as Porsha’s elder, Cynthia should be setting an example. None of us are perfect, but we can all strive to be better.”
Bailey’s “behavior last night was unbecoming,” Parks sniffed.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey is on hiatus, but Teresa Giudice is still stirring up drama with her co-stars off-screen. RadarOnline.com has learned that she is secretly blaming her co-stars — and Internet “haters” — for the lackluster response to fundraising efforts for her daughter’s girl band.
As Radar reported, Teresa’s daughter, Gia, 13, started an online fundraiser to raise money for a holiday video by her band, 3KT. So far, it has raised only $901, of a $7,500 goal.
“Teresa believes there are negative forces, including co-stars from RHONJ, that are the reason why Gia’s music video fundraising efforts have been a failure so far. Teresa says there are haters that are determined to make sure Gia’s music career goes down in flames,” a source told Radar.
Gia’s girl band, 3KT, recently launched a Kickstarter campaign and said, ” “3KT loves our fans! We want to give you an awesome original Christmas music video in time for the holiday! Join us!
“WE LOVE OUR FANS! We are still so overwhelmed by the buzz and support over our first music video cover ‘Circus’ (originally by Britney Spears WHO WE ADORE!). So many of you had amazing words of support for us on our new journey. We were born to perform and entertain, and we are so lucky to be able to do this in such a big way. We want to empower and inspire other young performers to FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS AND NEVER GIVE UP!”
Despite drowning in $13.5 million in debt before filing for bankruptcy, and thousands in restitution for her fraud case looming, Teresa recently forked out $10,000 for her daughter, Gia‘s music video — against her husband Joe‘s orders.
Gia recently shot the video covering Britney Spears’ song “Circus” with her fellow band members Alex Maetta, 16, and Cristianna Cardinale, 14.
The aspiring singers’ first music video premiered on Halloween. Wearing very heavy eye makeup and risqué clothing, the girls looked “as though they are in their early twenties!” a source previously told Radar.
“Teenagers, especially, a 13-year-old should never be wearing a leather bustier,” the source previously said. “What kind of message does this send to other girls their age?”
Brandi Glanville is widely known as the chief pot stirrer on The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills. Although she has plenty of regrets about her often atrocious behavior, she also thinks that Bravo has unfairly transformed her into a villain. In fact, during a recent interview, the reality star went so far as to accuse the network of adding sound effects to her memorable attack on Lisa Vanderpump.
Is Brandi Glanville really as awful as she seems on The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills? She certainly possesses a biting tone on Twitter — to the point that followers assume she is every bit as mean-spirited in real life as she is on . But the celeb thinks that she has frequently been the victim of bad editing. In a recent interview with TooFab, Brandi dished on her latest altercation with Lisa Vanderpump, explaining, “I swear they added a sound effect to it! I might have been there and I don’t think it was like that.”
This is by no means the first time Brandi has complained about Bravo’s editing. Last year, she ranted about the issue on Facebook, accusing the network of shooting “pick-up scenes after the show has wrapped so that certain story lines make sense.”
To Brandi’s credit, Bravo is known for it liberal use of editing, which makes several housewives look far more petty than they actually are. That being said, the editors must work with the material gathered during the filming process. Brandi definitely slapped Lisa and she has most certainly said awful things about her fellow Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills cast members. Thus, her status as RHOBH villain is deserved. Do you agree? Sound off in the comments section below!
Right. You’re a vile, nasty, racist wench by the name of Brandi Glanville, who has happened to have had fights with just about EVERYONE on the RHOBH cast, past and present, at one point or another and now it’s Bravo’s fault for making you look worse than you actually are. Right
For Cynthia Bailey, season 7 of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta (premiering this Sunday) is a chance for viewers to see the more outspoken side of her. “I feel like I’m just at the point where I don’t have the patience that I used to,” she tells ESSENCE.com. We spoke to the model and reality star about why she still gets jitters before each season premiere, the state of her friendship with NeNe Leakes, and why she feels bad for Apollo Nida.
Do you still get jitters before each season starts?
You know what? This is my fifth year and I still do get the jitters especially this season. It’s going to be a little bit different for me. In the previous season, I had my crew, and now things have changed and you guys will see that. New friends. That’s definitely a big change for me going into the new season.
What about that gives you the jitters?
Well, I think that people get really attached to seeing the relationships and friendships. When the dynamics of the relationship changes some people are going to like it and some people aren’t going to like it. I always get the, ‘Aw, I wish you guys were friends are again,’ or the ‘Thank God you guys aren’t friends.’ It’s just always interesting to just see how things play out on the show.
From the first episode we can see you are way more outspoken.
This is the thing; I’ve never been a pushover. I’ve always tried to take the high road in situations. Let’s just say I don’t always do that this season. I felt like sometimes taking the high road does not always work for this group. I’m definitely a little more outspoken. I’m tired. Tired. I feel like I’m just at the point where I don’t have the patience that I used to and it either is just working for me or it’s not working for me and if it’s not then I don’t have any problems saying, ‘This situation is not working for me anymore.’
Has your relationship with NeNe been repaired since the reunion? Do you care to repair it?
Toward the beginning of this season I was very hurt by some of the things that happened toward the end of our friendship. Despite it all I’m still optimistic that we could at least just be cool, cordial, and still have fun together. Not be besties, but just have that respect for each other as women and just agree to just coexist.
Were the cameras not rolling and were this not part of a story line on a reality show, do you think this is a friendship that you would have fought this hard for?
Like I said at the reunion, you just come to the end of the road with people. I think that we just … I don’t know. I don’t want to say we outgrew each other. I don’t know what the right word is, but basically we just kind of came to the end of the road. Obviously, NeNe is not the only friend I’ve ever had in my life. I’ve had other girlfriends in my life and sometimes you go through things together and you don’t really recover from them, and it’s not even a bad thing. Sometimes it’s okay to move on past friendships.
What do you think when I say Phaedra and Apollo?
I think there’s a lot when it comes to Phaedra and Apollo. I guess the first thing that comes to mind is ‘complicated.’ There’s so much you just don’t know about that relationship. I just don’t understand a lot of it. So, I would say complicated.
Were you following his trial and sentencing?
Peter definitely followed it probably closer than I did. But, being cast mates with Apollo, I think we were all pretty much abreast to the occurrences of everything that was happening all the way up until he went in.
I’m sure you were just as shocked as the rest of the world.
I actually felt really bad. I felt really bad for him. It was just an unfortunate situation especially with him being incarcerated before. But, he did the crime and he’s doing his time. He’s a young guy, hopefully when he comes out he will be able to really turn his life around in a positive direction.
You and Peter seem to be in a really good space this season.
We are in a good space. One of the things that you guys always get to see between my husband and I is our real relationship. It’s a real marriage. We have real issues and we’re real people. We’re at a great time in our life right now. It’s been four years; the marriage is settled in and I think we really understand each other. We don’t expect our life to be perfect and I’m able to roll with the punches a little better than I was before as a newlywed
At one point you say not being friends with NeNe was better for your relationship with Peter. How?
I had put a lot of energy into my friendship with NeNe and I think what ended up happening for me—and I’m speaking for me on my side of the friendship—some of the energy that I was pouring into my friendship with her I should have been pouring into my marriage. Some friends are just needier than others, and I’m not trying to say anything bad about NeNe. I’m just saying I put a lot of energy into that relationship. And, I felt like once that relationship went away I had all this time to pour into my life and my husband and my kid.
I really like the “new” Cynthia and Porsha knows damn well that she wrong for being so late and coming off like a witch at that sit-down with Cynthia.
While Eileen Davidson (“Days of our Lives,” “The Young and the Restless“) won’t be appearing on the reality series until its third episode, Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” managed to snag its highest-rated season premiere in over three years, according to Nielsen Media Research ratings data, with 2 million total viewers tuning in, up 25 percent from the prior season premiere (11/4/13), on Tuesday, November 18. The renewed success of “Beverly Hills Housewives” follows the recent performance of “The Real Houseweives of Atlanta,” which premiered its seventh season on Sunday, November 9 and became the network’s highest-rated season premiere in Bravo history with over 4.5 million total viewers (based on L+3 ratings data) and 2.7 million Adults 18-49 (based on L+3 ratings data), up 26 percent and 27 percent respectively from the season six premiere.
In addition to an increased viewer tally, 1.1 million Adults 18-49 tuned into the fifth season premiere of “Beverly Hills Housewives,” which was an increase of 36 percent from the prior season premiere (11/4/13).
In addition to Davidson, “Beverly Hills Housewives” also stars Lisa Rinna (“DAYS,” “Melrose Place”), and returning cast members Brandi Glanville, Lisa Vanderpump, Kyle Richards, Kim Richards, and Yolanda Foster. The series airs Tuesdays at 9:00 PM, ET/PT on Bravo.
We recently told you that Bravo was working hard to try and strike a deal with Caroline Manzo to bring her back to The Real Housewives of New Jersey. She opted out of filming the most recent season of the show, so the producers brought in a trio of new ladies who did not click with the audience. Midway through the season, they brought Jacqueline Laurita back in a desperate attempt to get former fans to tune back in. They have realized that for the show to have any chance of bringing in decent numbers, they need a favorite like Manzo back in the fold.
Teresa Giudice used to be the glue that held RHONJ together, and viewers loved the havoc she wrecked in nearly episode. There seems to be a huge difference between lying about her sister-in-law’s activities and bilking people out of millions, and once it was confirmed that Giudice is a criminal, her fans became few and far between.
Bravo also has to try and clean up the reputation of the show because Giudice is headed to prison, Laurita’s tax evasion has been catching headlines and Joe and Melissa Gorga‘s business dealings are always questionable. Part of what makes Manzo so popular is that she comes across as the hardworking, Italian mother, something that is respected.
According to The Hollywood Life, it looks like Manzo is a sure bet to return to the show for Season 7, especially once Giudice is in jail and the rest of the ladies are in one way or another affected by her absence.
With the larger-than-life reality star’s splashy debut on Broadway this week, that’s now quite literally true.
Leakes, 46, joins the cast of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” on Tuesday. Opposite Keke Palmer in the title role, Leakes will play Madame, Cinderella’s wicked stepmother, for the show’s final leg before it closes Jan. 3.
It’s not the first turn with scripted drama for the “Housewife.” She’s starred in “Glee” and “The New Normal” and also performed in Vegas’ Cirque du Soleil show “Zumanity” earlier this year as the “Mistress of Sensuality.”
Those roles led to interest in her, she says, from the Broadway show “Chicago” and “Rock of Ages,” but after seeing Fran Drescher perform in the stepmother role, she knew “Cinderella” was the right fit.
Leakes, who is currently remarried to her husband Gregg after divorcing him in 2011, will take the role over from former “The View” host Sherri Shepherd, and she’s already working to make her stepmother stand out from the pack.
“You know, I’m bringing a little NeNe,” she tells The Post. “I’m a lot bigger in my delivery than some of the past stepmoms, [and] I’m probably more dramatic. I’ve been a ‘Housewife’ for forever, so…”
She trails off — the drama of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” speaks for itself.
The seventh season of the series — which airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. and broke the record two weeks ago for Bravo’s highest-rated season premiere ever, with 3.8 million viewers — will follow Leakes on her road to Broadway.
They’re still filming, and the season will wrap with her first bow on the Great White Way.
At last, some good legal news for a Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member! RadarOnline.com has learned that Jacqueline and Chris Laurita have been given a last-minute reprieve in their looming bankruptcy trial, as the judge has approved an extension request filed by the trustee overseeing the proceedings.
The couple had been accused of misusing millions in funds from their former clothing company.
They allegedly siphoned off millions from the company, Signature Apparel, and used the cash to support their lavish lifestyle — even though they knew the business was failing.
The couple previously reached an agreement to end the $8 million flap, but the trustee asked for a extension of the case to determine how the funds from that settlement will be distributed.
The judge agreed and granted the extension until January 30, 2015.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards announced this week that she had handed her pitbull Kingsley over to a trainer after it violently attacked her “second mother,” 80-year-old Kay Rozario. But in an exclusive statement to RadarOnline.com, Rozario claims she believes Richards’ statement was just a PR ploy — because she knows an “ugly” lawsuit is headed her way!
“I don’t believe it,” Rozario told Radar. “If she gave the dog to a trainer, Kim is intending to get the dog back in the future.”
According to another source, Rozario “does not buy Kim’s sympathy plea. Kim knows there is a lawsuit coming her way, and this is about to get real ugly.”
Rozario first went public with her claims on November 7, when her attorney Bill Zuhdi told Radar exclusively, “I represent [alleged victim] Kay Rozario and she was attacked by Kim Richards’ dog on March 20, 2014, at Kim Richards’ residence. Mrs. Rozario was severely injured from the unprovoked attack of the dog … I have prepared a lawsuit and will be filing the suit [soon].”
Rozario added at the time, “Kim contacted me four months later. She never offered to pay my medical bills. She did nothing. I said to her, ‘You have to get rid of this dog.’ She said, ‘No, I can’t. He is my best friend and I love him.’”
That same day, following news of the suit, Richards, 50, released a statement saying that she “was shocked” that her “lifelong family friend” was “bringing suit against her.”
“I was shocked to learn that lifelong family friend Kay Rozario is bringing suit against me for an incident that took place in March,” the RHOBH star said. “Mrs. Rozario has long played an important part in my life and is someone that I have looked at as a second mother. When the bite occurred I offered immediately to handle any and all costs associated with the hospital visit but was told that would not be necessary and there was nothing she needed me to do because insurance covered all costs. Her details of what happened that morning are vehemently not true, she walked into my bedroom the next morning reaching across Kingsley towards me and Kingsley went after her. She was fully aware that I had a dog before she came to town and saw him upon her arrival. In the past Mrs. Rozario has sold multiple stories involving my family and myself and was paid for her participation in a book about my family. This event took place on the morning of the first time I saw her in over 10 years after a reconciliation for her part in the book. It’s unfortunate how people can go against decades of friendship when something like this happens and make their rounds to the media for money.”
As Radar previously reported, Rozario’s claims came after the attack on Richard’s neice, Kyle Richards’ 18-year-old daughter Alexia Umansky. Following that incident, the reality star released a statement that that said, “At this point I am looking at options to what the next step is for Kingsley. As many of you can relate, he is my best friend. This is a very difficult decision and time for all of us, but the safety of my family always comes first.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey” is going to jail along with Teresa Giudice.
A source close to the production tells Confidenti@l that Bravo expects to shelve the hit show until the future Jersey jailbirdgets out of the slammer.
While other members of the cast have been anxiously waiting for seventh-season contracts to drop on their doorsteps, a network insider tells us that “there is zero moving forward anytime soon for ‘The Real Housewives of New Jersey.’ ”
“If we’re doing a season seven, Teresa will be part of it,” the source says. “We would shoot it when she’s out of jail.”
With the disgraced reality star set to report to federal prison in Danbury, Conn., for 15 months starting Jan. 5, it could be spring 2016 before Giudice is back in front of the cameras. However, Bravo insiders are not expecting the mother of four, who pleaded guilty to four counts of fraud, to serve her full term.
“The season for ‘Housewives’ is not consistent in the way that the other shows are, like ‘OK, episode one is always Jan. 1’ or whatever,” explained the insider, “ ‘Real Housewives of New York’ missed an entire year before we brought it back. It’s not that we have to do it within a certain amount of time. We do it when we know it’s right and when we want to do it.”
“The network has not made any decision on how we’re moving forward with (‘The Real Housewives Of New Jersey’),” the source added. “We have nothing going forward, we have no (footage) in the can, nothing that we’re shooting right now.
“We’re completely figuring out what to do with the show. We can’t really figure it out until we see what’s going to happen with her and the rest of the cast,” added the source, who insisted that Bravo doesn’t plan to shoot scenes with Giudice before she dons her orange jumpsuit.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards questioned her friendship with Lisa Vanderpump on the reunion special last year, after she learned that Lisa had possibly tried to put some tabloid magazines in Brandi Glanville’s bag regarding Richards’ husband’s supposed affair. Kyle was hurt and confused, as she thought that Lisa was her friend.
Kyle Richards may have been even more confused, as Vanderpump had been caught saying rude and harsh things about Kyle and her husband. On The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Vanderpump had joked that people just had to list their home with Mauricio Umansky, and Kyle would become a great friend. She hinted that Richards was all about the professional relationships.
According to a new Bravo report, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards may have forgotten those nasty comments when she met up with her former friend for lunch on the premiere episode of this new season. She wanted to work things out.
“Lisa and I picked up where we left off last year. I reached out to Lisa and asked her to meet with me. Lisa and I had always been close. In the past couple of years, we have had our moments and a lot of obstacles to work through. However, life is too short, and I wanted to talk it out and be able to start from scratch,” Richards reveals.
Richards also points out that she does miss her friend, even though comments were made that she doesn’t necessarily agree with. But during their lunch, Kyle didn’t bring up the comments that were made behind her back. Perhaps, she doesn’t want to deal with the confrontation.
“I missed the days of us just laughing and having fun. I wanted to get to a strong enough place where we wouldn’t go backwards again or let outside negativity influence our friendship. I think that in order to do that you have to have these conversations. Brushing it under the carpet and just “moving on” is always a temporary solution,” Richards explains, hinting that this makeup is only temporary between them.
